I have always been passionate about teaching others and working with high school students. I have a doctorate in physical therapy from Belmont University with 11 years of clinical experience. In this role I gained experience in educating patients, staff and students. I based my clinical roles around the philosophy that if my patients understand the underlying reasons for needing physical therapy they will have the knowledge and tools to both advocate for themselves and invest in their own improvements. This has also been my philosophy in my 17 years of coaching high school athletes. If someone understands the why behind something, they have an improved ability to apply the information. I love helping people grow their knowledge in the areas where I am passionate as well. It is a joy to share my knowledge with others and make new or seemingly difficult topics approachable and fun.

I take new information for a student and find the best way to gain an understanding of it, not just memorize it. Through both coaching and treating patients, I have a strong ability to create relationships with others and identify the best way to work with them on retaining new information. These roles have also accentuated my communication skills and ability to make individualized improvement plans for each person with whom I help. I have an expertise in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and biomechanics. A large part of my physical therapy path required significant work in mathematics and science.
