I completed my dermatology residency in June 2022 and am currently an instructor, attending physician, and postdoctoral researcher on the faculty of Vanderbilt University Medical Center. My work combines immunology, genetics, statistics, and clinical informatics to study adverse reactions to medication. Before residency, I received a combined MD-PhD from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. My PhD combined genetics and immunology to study a rare autoimmune disease called pemphigus vulgaris. I also received a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Brown University, where I was Phi Beta Kappa and received a Teaching Assistant award for instructing undergraduates.

I am comfortable tutoring the sciences and math, but particularly enjoy MCAT and Step 1/2 instruction. I received a 43 on the MCAT and a 260+ Step 1 score. I have also spent time editing personal statements for college, medical school, and residency, and served as a student interviewer for medical school.

Contact me if you would like Step 1, MCAT, science, math, medical school and residency interviewing prep, or college/med/grad school/residency essay editing.

Very Insightful

Eric offered great advice for succeeding in medical school and beyond. He was also very open and honest about the reality of becoming a physician, and what might be desirable for an applicant to a competitive residency program.

Superb communicator with tremendous knowledge

Eric is simply superb. He is working with my high school daughter on honors chemistry and advance pre-calculus. Eric is able to see macro as well micro perspective of learning. He quickly identifies which areas to beef up and which areas are strong. Working with a young smart teenage girl is not necessarily easy, but he has been an effective communicator and quickly earned her respect. I highly recommend him as a tutor in math and chemistry.

Super Knowledgeable and Creative!

Eric is a great resource for anyone doing pre-med or medical school applications. He is intimately familiar with the length, format and style used in standard medical school personal statements. He is also great for brainstorming anecdotes and topics to see how things flow. He's honest about what stereotypes and topics to avoid! More importantly, he will help you tell your story creatively!

Helpful with residency apps!

Eric took the time to listen and get to know me/my professional aspirations. He guided me in writing my personal statement and answered any questions while I was filling out my ERAS CV. He was helpful (giving concise/relevant advice), approachable, and always willing to make time to answer my questions.

Quickly and accurately identified several issues I was doing wrong

Eric is amazing, he was able to find several things that I was doing wrong while doing practice questions with him. He was able to explain that the Step 2 test really examines how well you answer Step 2 questions. Thanks Eric!
