Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

After 27 years in Fiber Optics Research, I changed my career to high school teaching in Math and Science. One of the most enjoyable and rewarding classes has been Algebra 1 where I love working with students to build confidence and take away the fear of math. Having been in industry, I always find it important to relate the math principles to real world situations to assist students in seeing practical applications.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have taught all math ranging from Algebra 1 up to AP Calculus, including Algebra 2.
Physics,

Physics

AP Physics teacher and Professional Engineer. I have taught and tutored all levels of Physics ranging from Regular Physics, AP Physics (AP1 and AP2, AP-C Mechanics and AP-C E&M), IB Physics and College Physics both calculus and non calculus based. I have always loved Math and Science but also recognize that it is the Achilles Heel for some students and love taking the fear factor from the subject.

Knowledgeable and helpful tutor

Very helpful. Able to explain information clearly. I feel that I have an improved gasp of the material which will help me to be more successful on my next exam.

Helped my daughter in a crunch!

We are very happy with how John responded to our specific needs quickly to help our daughter learn concepts to improve her physics grade. She left his sessions feeling much more confident in her skills (and performing better on quizzes and exams). He was flexible with meeting times and found ways to make the technology work on our end. We plan to continue to utilize his expertise. I would recommend John to any parent whose student needs immediate help...or long-term skill building in physics.

Awesome Tutor

John helped me with Physics l and Physics ll which I decided to take during the Summer. These courses were 5 week 4 credit hours each. John is extremely helpful and knowledgeable in the subject and very caring and was always available when I needed a lesson. These accelerated classes are not for everyone but I can easily say I would not of passed these classes without John as my tutor.

Exceptional teacher-tutor!

John has taught a Calculus-based A.P. Physics course as part of our homeschool program for the last year. He is an exceptional teacher. He knows how to communicate complex ideas and adapt them to the level of the student and then help them reach the next level of understanding. He is patient, thorough, and extremely reliable. John was a gift to our homeschool. He is so much more than a teacher...his years of work experience give him an extra dimension that most teachers do not have. I highly recommend him.

Great physics tutor

John is very knowledgeable and skilled at explaining complex topics. I'm currently getting an 'A' in my Physics class because he explains concepts better than my classroom teacher!

Thoughtful and knowledgeable

John explains concerts wonderfully, definitely will continue to learn from him! John validates and explains as he teaches. John makes my son feel comfortable seeking advice.
