Hi! I graduated from high school in May of 2023 with Highest Honors and Distinction, and ranked in the Top 20 of my class. I am a 4.0 double-major in Psychology and Political Science at Middle Tennessee State University and have minors in Pre-Law, University Honors, and Political and Civic Engagement. I am a dedicated and detail-oriented student, leader, and volunteer in my community and am looking for ways to continue teaching others what I am passionate about during the summer and beyond.

I was previously a summer school tutor in 2022 for my hometown public school system. Additionally, I was a volunteer tutor during my senior year of high school. I specialized in English, reading, and Spanish. Most of my students were 9-10th grade and I worked with them on a one-on-one basis to help them complete their assignments successfully. I got a 36 and 35 on the English and reading portions of the ACT, respectively. I received a 5 on both the AP Language and AP Literature exams, as well as a 5 on AP Psychology and AP Spanish. I am a freelance writer for my student newspaper, where I produce and receive editing on thoughtful, concise feature writing and news stories following the AP stylebook guidelines.

I am committed to helping others reach their full potential in any given subject area, but especially when it comes to my own strengths of English, reading, psychology, etc. These are subjects that require repetitive practice, but more than anything, deep understanding of the "how" and "why." Therefore, my tutoring approach takes that into account. Helping to shape understanding is most important, which means the tutoring takes time, discussion, development of critical thinking skills, and a tutor that is constantly asking the right questions of the student. I am willing to put as much knowledge, research, and time that is necessary to help the student, even if it means admitting I do not know the answer, but somebody else may.
