I owned a popular yarn shop where I instructed and taught color combinations. In addition to knitting, I do counted cross-stitch and I spin. I also sew but am not comfortable teaching that on-line - the same with crochet.

Vocabulary

Teaching English, French, translating professionally and as owner of a translation agency, I am a linguist. Inaccurate wording and mistakes in vocabulary can change the meaning of anything, so I pay specific attention to words.

I owned a translation agency and worked with many languages. I also earned an MS degree in Educational Psychology. Before I retired, I owned a very popular retail store.

My experience in writing stems largely from my 18 years expertise as a professional translator for global corporations. I must be able to declare that the documents I submit are true and correct translations of the original language. In addition, I proofread and edit other's works, including college-level papers and books.

Psychology

I received my MS in School Psychology within the Educational Psychology department of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. The program's focus was Behavioral; consequently, I've set up a variety of behavior modification schedules and became a trained, frequency-counting observer. My post-grad work was in administering a Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale under development for use with the deaf and hearing impaired population. To balance that out, I completed a year-long training program in Gestalt Therapy in Boone, NC. That gave me the skills I wanted, which I combined with my Counseling coursework in order to conduct therapy as needed. I served more than one school and, indeed, school system at a time. Using the standard psychoeducational assessment tools (Wechsler scales, Bender-Gestalt, WRAT, Adaptive Behavior Scales...), I tested, evaluated and placed children in 5 to 7 schools per system. Currently I am receiving certification in Positive Psychology taught by Dr. Martin Seligman and in Psychodiagnostics and Psychological Assessment
