I love teaching and training students to reach their full potential and be successful in school and in life. More importantly, I believe everyone has the potential to be the best they can be as long as they are made to believe in themselves, in their potential and innate abilities. I have had a lot of informal teaching experience as a Scoutmaster (woodbadger), volunteer in many student and professional organizations; and more formally as a undergraduate work-study student and graduate research assistant while at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. I have tutored many students and proctored countless tests and exams in the student writing center, adaptive technology lab, computer and science labs on campus. In my professional life, I have worked as a corporate pharmacy trainer for over 10 years. I have also taught pharmacy technology and pharmacy technician training programs in classroom settings, simulated case environment (CBT), store settings, one-on-one sessions...etc. What I have learned and enjoyed throughout is to 'start the car and let the student drive', turn the computer and surrender the mouse to them, and then watch their eyes get bigger and brighter as they find clarity and purpose in their own directed learning. I truly subscribe to the Boy Scouts method of "learning by doing" applied to facilitating learning.

I have a very broad and solid science and humanities education, coupled with a visceral need for reading and research. I am constantly updating my knowledge through interaction with people much smarter than I am and staying abreast with current research and advances in Science, Technology and Math (STEM). I leverage a lot of creative, engaging and dynamic ways to teach French because I believe learning any language involves more than speaking it, but we must also live it through music, culture, food, or any other medium or topic you may be interested in. In the end, proficiency in any language has to do with how regularly do you put those skills to practice as well as your overall ease with using it in our daily activities. I was a Biochemistry/Pre-med major as an undergraduate in college and also in graduate school. I successfully completed over 14-16 credits in genetics, molecular genetics as well as advanced research in biotechnology, phylogenetics and bioinformatics that often built upon a strong genetics basis. More importantly I am able to correlate how Mendelian and Mammalian genetics relate to human diseases and current medical challenges. Lastly, as my thesis looked at the genetic make-up of viruses of medical importance to better understand their epidemiology and natural history. Only the GRE was required for acceptance into my Professional Master's program years ago. However I took both the GRE and the GMAT and scored very highly on the general and subject tests. In addition, I personally tutored and coached over 15 people after that in either tests including my own wife and sister who both graduated with MBA degrees respectively in Finance and Management from reputed B-Schools, All the other students except for 2 were accepted in a business program and either graduated or are currently enrolled. Of the other two, one decided against pursuing a graduate degree and the other went to take the MCAT (I tutored also) and went on to medical school. Oftentimes, on standardized tests, it's not the test taker's subject knowledge, but rather test taking strategies and time management strategies that keep them from the desired score or outcome. One of the quotes I like to refer often is "Repetition is the grandmaster of learning", a well established pedagogy mantra emphasizing the need for revisiting study materials and finding different approaches to optimize learning. Another one is "Persistence beats Resistance", outlining the need for perseverance in the pursuit of one's educational goals. So good organization (good class notes, use of planners and reminders), repetition (revisiting the same material in different ways), and persistence (a string will to succeed and master learning) are the cornerstones of academic success at any level, from kindergarten to graduate school and lifelong learning. English & Social Sciences may be daunting due to the rigor of analysis, and level of composition skills often required. Zoology or animal biology is the field of Biology that studies the classification, evolution and distribution of all animals, and how their interact with their milieu. Hence, zoology, much like microbiology, or anatomy and physiology can be daunting at first but requires critical thinking and logical analysis, coupled with a very good sense of organization and structure. BEST TUTOR EVER!

Ousman helped me study for my Hesi A2 exam. I loved the fact that he gave me homework because this kept me accountable and it was also great practice. He also gave me print outs that were extremely helpful in remembering certain topics like grammar and punctuation. The two hour sessions were always worth it for me because I got a lot of studying done in those two hours, compared to studying with other tutors for only an hour. He always challenged me mentally and made sure I knew my stuff! I wish I found him a lot sooner!!! Pick him as your tutor you will not regret it! He's even funny! lol

I am truly so glad and grateful I have gotten to do sessions with Ousman! I completed taking the TEAS for the first time and was able to score proficient (within a very short time frame). While I would not recommend waiting to study for the TEAS I know I could not have done it without Ousman's help! The knowledge and experience he has with teaching, exams, and students is truly amazing! He is highly intelligent and knows what he is talking about! Ousman makes sure you understand the material and is very focused on the needs of the student. The resources he provided were extremely helpful! Not only did I appreciate how he went over different areas/questions/reviews but he also discussed test taking tips/skills in order to be well prepared for the TEAS and he would check in on mindset ask how I was feeling about the exam. He makes the sessions fun, and engaging! We covered so much in each of the sessions! If you are a dedicated student and need help reaching your goals I highly recommend working with Ousman! It can be so overwhelming with these tests but to work with someone who can break it down truly makes so much of a difference! Thank you Ousman! I could not have done it without you!

Best Tutor!!

Ousman is truly a great tutor he has helped me improve my scores for the HESI A2 by quite a lot. He will always encourage you and is very honest with the feedback that he gives you in the problematic areas. This makes it easier for someone to be able to know what areas to go back and take a further look into. He is truly well knowledged and versed in the areas and much more that it makes it easier to ask him questions. You can tell he truly cares and wants the best. I would 100% recommend and plus he is hilarious it makes learning with him easier and delightful.

Ousman is the best tutor I’ve ever had!! (& I’ve had a lot!) he is well organized & thorough. He helped me pass my hesi a2 exam with flying colors! I could barely multiply numbers when I first met with him & now I just passed the Hesi math section with an 88%! He is hard working, dedicated & a wonderful person. He is so nice & truly wants to see people succeed! He doesn’t play around & really tries to find the specific areas you need help in. He has a wonderful set up of locating your areas of weakness & creating a workshop to improve those areas. He takes so much time to help others. He goes out of his way to write detailed reports on your progress & gives AMAZING handouts of questions & information that truly help you understand the information. He has everything documented & in order so you never feel confused on what he is asking of you! If you are serious about learning & progressing to get where you need to be, he is the guy for you!!! He never makes anyone feel dumb or insecure because he really is there to help you. You can ask him anything because he is so smart & never judges. I am so thankful for Ousman!! Because of him I know I’m going to nursing school & that I have a bright future ahead of me!! He is also great about being your cheerleader & giving you no nonsense advice!! There were many times I felt like giving up & that I just wasn’t smart enough but he wouldn’t let me do or think that!!! I owe my future to Ousman & believe he’s a gift from god!
