I bring a strong educational foundation and a wide range of real-world teaching experience into every tutoring session, along with a creative, problem-solving mindset that helps students connect with what they are learning. I hold degrees in both Middle School Education and Early Childhood Education. Over the past three years, I taught math and science in a charter school setting, and I now work as a full-time private tutor while completing my Elementary Education internship and working on a young adult novel. I plan to continue my education by pursuing a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to better support students with Autism, AuDHD, and ADHD. My experience spans students ages 3 through 18 in one-on-one tutoring, classroom instruction, homeschool group classes, and adult learners. I also homeschooled my two children from upper elementary through graduation, which gave me a deep understanding of individualized instruction and long-term academic growth.

My tutoring approach is student-centered, flexible, and built on encouragement and trust. I meet each student where they are, breaking concepts into clear, manageable steps and using visual supports, hands-on activities, and interactive strategies to keep learning engaging and accessible. I have extensive experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including ASD and AuDHD learners, and I design sessions that honor different learning styles while building structure and confidence. As a practicing artist and small business owner, I naturally weave creativity and real-world application into my teaching, helping students see purpose in what they are learning. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but to help them develop confidence, independence, and the belief that they are capable of success.

Great Lesson

My son was very worried about meeting a new person and did not feel confident he would be able to remember any of the work from his previous GED programs. Ms.Lori was welcoming and supportive from the initial meet and greet. Here is what he had to say after there session "thank you, Mom. I went to the thing and it was really cool. I wanted to do it again so she was fun to hang out."

Erica, 17 lessons with Lori

Very patient and kind to my 5 year old!

Lori gave us a wonderful first session. My 5 yr old is normally very shy, but Lori made her feel very relaxed and calm. She was very helpful coming up with a plan to help our girl become a strong reader. Looking forward to the progress to come!
