Greetings! I am an educator with 12+ years of experience and countless hours working with a variety of students. My journey has taken me to two states, three school districts, and four schools. I started my career as a substitute teacher in Georgia. While I worked as a substitute teacher, I decided to return to school to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching Degree from Augusta State University in 2010. My certification focuses on Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

The next phase of my career continued in 2011 with my work as a full-time classroom teacher. I worked as a third grade social studies and science educator in Georgia for five years. My class sizes varied from 12 to 35 students. In 2016, I continued my career in South Carolina as fourth grade Social Studies and ELA teacher for three years, and a self-contained second grade teacher for three years. As a second grade teacher, we focused primarily on Math and ELA, and incorporated Social Studies and Science within those subject areas. From August of 2022 to December of 2024, I worked as a substitute teacher while I took classes to reactivate my teaching certification. I have worked as a Math Interventionist for 4th and 5th grade since January of 2025. As a math interventionist, my primary task is to work with bubble students who are close to being on grade level within a small-group setting. I also work within the fourth and fifth grade classrooms to co-teach and assist students who need addition help with their math lessons.

As a teacher, I have worked to provide a classroom that promotes a healthy learning environment. I have encouraged my students to ask questions, and take an active role in the learning process. I use data to assess each student's needs, develop a plan to help meet those needs, and meet with caregivers to keep them updated on their student's progress.
