Bio

Hi, friends! My name is Elizabeth, and as a student of the English language, I'm a firm believer that the wheels of society turn on effective communication. There is no skill more important! Hi, friends! My name is Elizabeth, and as a student of the English language, I'm a firm believer that the wheels of society turn on effective communication. There is no skill more important! I've been tutoring with this philosophy in mind since 2021, at the collegiate level as a supplemental instructor and in-house tutor for Oxford College at Emory University. In 2023, I began a position as an ACT prep/English tutor with Northside Tutoring in Atlanta, where I tutored in-person and virtually for students in middle and high school, helping them with classwork as well as preparing them for assessments such as ACT and SSAT. During my own high school career, I received a perfect score of 36 on ACT English and Reading sections, and it is my hope to pay that solid educational base forward to the next wave of bright young students. Additionally, I operated remotely as an editorial intern for Peter Coffin Studio in New York in 2023, which sharpened my proofreading skills and my ability to write succinctly and persuasively. I received my high school literature award, am currently an Honors student in my senior year at Emory crafting my English thesis, and I love to read and write for pleasure in my free time.

As a tutor, I firmly believe in treating each student as an individual and crafting our lessons to best suit their needs and personality. The first challenge in developing one's skills as a strong, analytical written communicator is communicating one's own needs: how do you do your best learning, and how can I best support that process? Finding the answer to that question will be our first step in developing a strong and effective educational plan, customized to your needs as a student.
