Hi everyone!
My name is Simona N. and I'm a junior at Brown University, currently studying abroad at the University of Oxford. I started taking chess classes at five years old, and a year later, I won the U.S. Open within my age section and became National Champion. Since then I started taking the sport seriously and chess became an enormous part of my life. I have been teaching chess to elementary school kids for the past five years. My students went on to win the San Francisco Scholastic Chess Championships 4 times in a row, as well as improve their United States Chess Federation (USCF) rating by over 500 points.
Some of my personal chess achievements include:
- United States National Chess Team member for 5 consecutive years;
- 5-time winner of the Northern California’s Girls’ Chess Championship;
- Official representative for the North American Chess Festival for Youth and Childhood in Baja
California;
- Participant at 4 World Youth Chess Championships;
- Winner of the Susan Polgar's National Chess Open for Boys and Girls;
- Winner of the North American All-Girls Chess Championship;
- Member of the U.S. National Maccabiah Chess Team;
- Awarded the bronze medal at the World Compatriots' Games in Sochi, Russia.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me! I will be more than happy to answer any questions!
