I’m currently a student in the PLME program at Brown University, where I'm pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience before continuing on to earn my MD at the Warren Alpert Medical School. Over the past 10 years, I've accumulated more than 1,000 hours of tutoring experience across a wide range of subjects - including math, biology, chemistry, neuroscience, and advanced competition prep for the Biology and Chemistry Olympiads. I also specialize in standardized test preparation for the SAT, ACT, AP exams, and STAAR tests. My teaching experience includes one-on-one tutoring, part-time work at Spider-Smart Learning Center, and serving as Vice President/Instructor at the nonprofit Giveducation.
Throughout school, I struggled with reading textbooks and understanding lectures myself, which pushed me to create my own methods to make learning more engaging, effective, and enjoyable. These strategies helped me graduate as the top-ranked student from the Medical Science Academy at Hightower High School and earn multiple national accolades in the USA Biology Olympiad, Chemistry Olympiad, Brain Bee, and Medicine/Disease Olympiad. I was also a National Merit Scholar Finalist and scored a 1580 on the SAT. Currently, I'm a research intern in Quantum Computational Neuroscience at Ulm University in Germany, and I've held research positions in molecular biology and cognitive science at Baylor College of Medicine and Johns Hopkins University.
I strive to share the same strategies that helped me succeed with each of my students. My tutoring style is highly personalized - I take time to understand how each student learns and adapt my lessons accordingly. Whether a student is a visual learner who benefits from diagrams or a conceptual thinker who needs real-world examples, I break down complex topics into engaging, easy-to-understand pieces.
I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals!
