Friendly and Knowledgeable Mathematics Tutor

Henry E.

I am Henry E, a sophomore at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) studying mathematics. I graduated from Classical High School in 2024, with 5s and A+s in AB and BC Calculus. I earned a score of 790 on the math section of the SAT.

In my first year at WPI I received As in Theoretical Calculus IV (Multivariable), Applied Statistics I, Differential Equations, Intro to Linear Algebra and Bridge to Higher Mathematics (Proof Writing). I currently have a 3.9 GPA.

I was the captain of the Classical High School math team, where we went to states twice and regionals once. I was also the captain of the Classical High School chess team, where we went to nationals twice. These experiences have given me significant experience working with and teaching high school students. These have taught to take a practical approach of first attempting problems, asking how it went and then reviewing.

I volunteered as a tutor in high school. I helped students from grades 9-12 with Algebra I and II, geometry, precalculus and AP Calculus AB and BC. Generally students would ask for help on homework or classwork questions that they are struggling in.

I also have experience teaching students 8-10 as a camp counselor for three years and working as a Chess Coach at an elementary school. This group environments followed a traditional classroom setting.

I really love teaching and talking about math. I’ve helped friends and family with their math problems. I love learning about new things and helping others to learn. In my free time I like to play Dungeons and Dragons, cook and play with my dog and cat.
