I am currently an undergraduate student at Brown University as part of the PLME combined baccalaureate/MD program. During high school I learned to excel in all of my courses and mastered several standardized tests, earning me a perfect 36 in all sections on the ACT and 5's on all AP tests I have taken (12 courses). I tutored several peers in high school, and I also tutored middle school students on a volunteer basis for the past two years. I truly enjoy helping students to find the motivation and encouragement to want to learn for their own sake, not merely for a number or a parent. I've found that my past students have, within a few sessions, become much more enthusiastic; some even claimed to look forward to their sessions!
Having scored a 36 on the ACT math just a few years ago and taking math through Calculus 2, I believe I am more than confident with the content presented. Beyond that, I think the shortcuts, timing advice, and general tips I provide for the math exam are what separate me from just reading a textbook, as I help students to truly master the exam so that they can look at any question on test day and say "easy peasy".
I am at heart a science student who pursues biology, chemistry, and physics as an undergraduate. I also earned 5's on AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Physics C in high school, making me an excellent resource for these courses/exams in particular.
I would consider myself to be primarily a STEM student, but I am also a very competent essayist, having published a 37-page research thesis internationally in the field of cell biology. My score of 36 on the ACT English section in high school also makes me qualified to teach students not just the grammar rules, but cues, strategies, and pacing for what is, I believe, the most improvable section for students.
I encourage any students that are struggling with any middle school or high school courses (regular, advanced, AP) in my subjects listed above to reach out for help to catch up, keep up, or even get ahead! I am a
