Hello! After graduating from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA with degrees in Neuroscience and Music, I traveled abroad to teach in various schools in Bangladesh, India, Niger, Kuwait, Nepal, and Thailand. I've taught primarily in American systems with AP coursework in the international schools I've taught at, although I have experience in the IB system as well. The main subject I have taught is mathematics, and I'm US certified in both high school mathematics as well as biological sciences.

During my time abroad, I completed a Masters in Education during summer coursework through The College of New Jersey. Since having moved back to the United States in 2023, I've taught math in a private boarding school and completed a Masters degree in Mathematics through West Texas A&M University. I'm currently on faculty at the University of Pittsburgh and have greatly enjoyed teaching in both high school and undergraduate settings. After more than 10 years of teaching and several years of tutoring alongside that, my main expertise has become Algebra, PreCalculus, and Calculus.

I enjoy teaching/tutoring in a way that builds a story from foundations that are well-understood to a larger, more comprehensive understanding of a given topic. This involves making connections and drawing attention to how one idea leads into the next. Although mathematics appears to be based on numbers and calculations, the underlying thinking and concepts are much more qualitative and conversationally constructed. That's why I like to learn and teach information primarily through discussion and inquiry, while anchoring our understanding and progress through examples that demonstrate problem solving approaches and illuminate the material.
