Algebra or statistics have you pulling out your hair? Let's make a plan to crack the code of these important but sometimes intimidating math classes. I'll work through reading and problem sets with you, side by side, to support your learning. We can also work on study and test-taking skills, which are so important in this area.

On the writing side, I specialize in essays, articles, and research papers. In particular, I love helping middle and high school students find their writing voice and author stand-out essays. Literary analysis essay has you pulling out your hair? I’ve got you. Persuasive essay due on Monday? Let’s get you on the schedule. Pressure on to churn out an exceptional high school or college application essay? That’s my jam.

I’m confident that whatever phase of the writing process you are in, I have strategies to support you. To master the structure of an essay, we might use a graphic organizer. To distill your main idea, I have a whole lesson arc on how to construct a thesis and supporting evidence. To polish your first draft, we will revise; I will coach you side by side with suggestions and detailed feedback. To ensure that your work is pitch perfect before you turn it in, I am a skilled proofreader and editor. I will also teach you how to catch things for yourself with checklists and other tools.

My goal is for you to build confidence as a student, wherever you are starting from. I respond quickly to inquiries. Please contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson.

Reviews

Multifaceted, patient, and accommodating tutor for stats and writing.

I initially hired Elizabeth to help my high school senior daughter with Statistics, and they met for several in person sessions -- which were very beneficial. Beyond the one-on-one help, the note cards Elizabeth helped my daughter put together were apparently very useful for studying Stats outside of the sessions . When with short notice we also needed help with college application essay writing, Elizabeth was great there too, providing 2.5 hours of much needed proof reading, composition, and general support. I highly recommend Elizabeth for help with writing essays and college applications, as well as Stats! -Jesse
