Hi,
I am Raphael.
I completed my undergraduate in computer science and was a teaching assistant at university level for a year.
Recently I obtained my PhD in Biomedical Engineering at OHSU, focussed on AI & Healthcare.
I enjoy coding in my free time as well. My focus at OHSU is on cancer research and the application of deep learning systems such as Variational Auto Encoders using python.

I am Raphael.
I completed my undergraduate in computer science and was a teaching assistant at university level for a year.
Recently I obtained my PhD in Biomedical Engineering at OHSU, focussed on AI & Healthcare.
I enjoy coding in my free time as well. My focus at OHSU is on cancer research and the application of deep learning systems such as Variational Auto Encoders using python.

I disagree! Everyone can code! You just need a teacher who has patience and helps you to get started!
I am this person! I have helped chemists with no prior knowledge of coding to write their own lab software, that now improves their workflow and helps with otherwise tedious and repetitive tasks!

I have a deep understanding of writing code for different use cases. Be it research applications, enterprise applications, or others! I developed applications that are now deployed to the cloud and serve customers all around the world. I even published my own python library to streamline workflows!

I am a senior Developer for Origin Audio LLC & Anobrain.ai working on both their homepages which uses Angular as a framework. Furthermore, I wrote desktop applications using electron and angular, which are now ready to be shipped to our customers! I have 10 years of coding experience, including Angular and mentored multiple students on their journey to learn code.

At OHSU I work as a graduate Ph.D. researcher using Python to build ML/DL applications to help cancer patients to receive better treatment faster. I specialize in using TensorFlow, pandas, NumPy and mlflow as well as seaborn and matplotlib. I created my own wrapper library for mlflow, to make it easier to handle experiments and runs. Additionally I run my own consulting company in the machine learning space Anobrain.ai which sits between the chairs of IT Infrastructure and Data Science.

A Lifesaver!

Raphael has helped me to begin understanding my lessons. Everything is in German and very intimidating. He has helped enlighten me on how the German language is structured from a German point of view. What I like about him is he is very patient and empathetic. He gives me time to try and come up with verb forms and the correct articles on my own. I came to him just a few days before my exam really behind and with little confidence. I am sure I would have failed it without his help. He insists that conversation is key, not just getting through the class. I now love the German language, when just a week ago I was ready to quit. Now I look forward to interacting with other students and practicing, when before I stayed quiet because I was afraid of making mistakes. He is fun to work with and has a great attitude!

Extremely patient and helpful
