I help students to avoid taking remedial math and to test into advanced math like calculus. Most of them have needed fewer than 6 lessons. In June and August, two of my TSI students raised their scores from 930 to 976 and 941 to 965, respectively, after only 2 lessons each. In April, one of my students earned a 74 on the ALEKS after receiving only 1 hour of tutoring. Previously, I helped an Accuplacer student earn 285 and a PERT student earn 130.
AFOQT

AFOQT

I have helped over 100 AFOQT students meet or exceed the minimum Quantitative and Verbal scores. I teach them how to answer math problems without solving them and how to answer verbal questions correctly when they don't know the meaning of the words. Most of them have needed fewer than 10 lessons. In August, my most recent student raised his prior Quantitative score by 41 points after 4 lessons. In March, one raised his score from 1 to 78 after only 2 lessons. In May, one improved her Verbal score by 25 points after 6 lessons. I also tutor OAR math, and my most recent student improved his score from 45 to 51 after 5 lessons.

I am patient and able to explain concepts in easily understandable terms. I increase students' confidence and improve their grades and test scores. One went from making F’s in algebra to a 92 in three weeks. Another went from a 40 to a 71 on his next algebra test, and one went from a 22 to an 80 in his algebra class. I also have experience helping college algebra students navigate ALEKS.

I help algebra II students fill learning gaps caused by the pandemic, ineffective classroom instruction, or extended time away from school. I also assist students with sharpening their problem-solving skills on placement exams such as the Accuplacer and CLEP. I have also worked as a college algebra instructor assisting students with navigating ALEKS.
ASVAB

ASVAB

I provide 1:1 ASVAB tutoring. I teach students how to answer math problems without solving them and vocabulary questions correctly when they don't know the meaning of the word. You will spend less time and money with me than with other ASVAB tutors and see better results. Most of my students need fewer than 6 lessons. In June, one scored 64 after only 1 lesson. In March, one earned a 78, and in July one went from 34 to 60, each after only 4 lessons.

I am fully invested in my students' success and committed to helping them understand the "whys" behind each answer. I work together with students to explain the nuances of calculus concepts and show them how to approach problems from various angles. I have been tutoring calculus ever since I was an undergraduate at CNU.

After an 18-year career in healthcare, I decided to use my experience to help others pass the HESI A2 exam. I have helped nearly 20 students pass the HESI A2, with one of them earning a perfect 100% math score. Another improved her prior math score from 42% to 76% after our lessons. Nearly all of my students have needed 6 or fewer lessons.

With over 7 years of math and English test prep experience, I have assisted numerous students in the areas of verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, and quantitative reasoning. I have over seven years of tutoring and test prep experience on Wyzant. I have successfully worked with many students to increase their confidence and test scores on the STAAR and similar exams. Michael is Great

I've two lessons with Michael and they have both been great. I'm studying for the asvab and need extra help on the arithmetic reasoning portion, and Michael is very knowledgeable. We have gone through many practice problems, and he has shown me multiple methods to solve many different types of problems. I had a problem with my wifi and notified him very late, 15 minutes later I got it working and we started the lesson and got a full hour of tutoring. Even though I've only had two lessons with Michael, I feel more prepared and confident, I plan on getting more lessons from him. I highly recommend Michael for any type of tutoring.

Thanks, Ben! I see no reason why a student should be penalized for something that is beyond their control. On a few rare occasions, I have had unexpected technical difficulties and, fortunately, most of the students have been very patient and understanding. I am often asked, "What is the quickest way to do this problem?" The truth is that's a very subjective question. What might be quick for one person might not be for another person. That's why I believe in offering several strategies for solving problems. Everyone learns differently, and some techniques might not be intuitive for some people. I really appreciate the positive review, Brandy. I believe in showing students several ways to do problems, because what's easier to one person might not be easier to another. I also think back to a time when I was an undergraduate and taking multivariable calculus. My professor marked one of my test questions incorrect, even though I had the right answer and showed my steps. He marked it incorrect because I did not do the problem the way that he had done it. When I approached him after class about it, he looked over my work and saw that my steps were all correct. This changed my grade from a high C to a solid B. This one episode taught me several valuable life lessons, including speaking up for yourself, and knowing that there isn't always one way to do something.
