About Martha

Bio

I am a mother of 2 adult boys, ages 22 and 24. I am a certified and licensed Intervention Specialist (Grades K-12) in Mild to Moderate Disabilities. I have taught 4-6th grades for the last 10 years in a self-contained facility for Emotionally Disturbed (ED) students. I love and always have had a love for all children, and I enjoy making a difference in their lives. I have also had experience working with Students with Autism and Downs Syndrome.

I have worked one on one with autistic students ranging from Preschool through high school. I was a one on one paraprofessional for a kindergarten student in 2000. I also was a one on one paraprofessional for a second grade student in 2001. The kindergarten student was low functioning and the 2nd grade student was higher functioning. I have also had experience with a nonverbal autistic girl whom I worked with for 2 years at a Special Needs summer school camp.
