"Nine tenths of education is encouragement."

Anatole France

I believe in the pedagogical paradigms that elicit the best results. My first tutoring experience was in Middle School as a 14-year-old! As a part-time college professor, I am comfortable with one-on-one interactions. Students who seek out my professional time will be able to apply the concepts I teach and utilize them throughout their academic lives.
Students who are reticent about writing or public speaking will be able to manage shyness and confidence issues after interactions. I follow Maria Montessori principals and postulates. The self-directed learner can continue to inform him or herself about the best paths to learning.

Students who seek out my assistance will be able to benefit from my ability to read and speak in Spanish, French, and Portuguese. I can hear the language substitutions and accents and help provide strategies to clarify them. As a published author and editor I am comfortable providing written critiques in grammar for students. I have taught English courses at Capital Community College. In addition, I have been a bi-lingual tutor for the Hartford Public School System. My editing experience includes my professional thesis and the Journal of Public Health. In this capacity, I read and recommended articles for publication.

Adult and Teen-Age students who are seeking interaction to obtain measurable results will benefit from contact with me. Because I am still a student pursuing my Ph.D., I am empathetic with those challenges that adults face. Parents with an elementary aged child diagnosed with a learning disability can reach out to me with confidence. My son has a special education label. I understand dyslexia, audio processing issues, and autism. In High School, my internship was at a school for the deaf. This experience is directly linked to the pursuit of my doctorate in Communications.
