I've taught math in the classroom in Colorado. I've been tutoring since I was in high school myself. I have many different ways to approach different concepts and can probably find the best way for your needs. I've had great success teaching students everything from beginning fractions through all of high school math through Calculus and beyond.
I love math and one of my life's goals is to make it more accessible to more people.
Students that I've tutored in the past have usually seen a two grade improvement (from a C to an A, from an F to a C). It's really important to me that you understand the math that you're doing, NOT just that you've memorized solutions. Math phobias stumbling blocks are no match for my enthusiasm.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've passed exams P/1, FM/2, and MLC. I passed P/1 with a score of 10 (highest score possible).
I've taught formal high school classes in Algebra I as well as successfully tutored numerous students struggling with specific concepts. You won't find better.
