I am a conscientious tutor and enthusiastic advocate of the French language and culture, as I am French myself and spent 42 years there before I moved to the US in 2005. I started tutoring with Wyzant on Long Island in 2010 and taught French to 8th graders in a private school for a year. I am back to tutoring as I love the variety of students I meet and work with. Sylvie taught French to my three children for over two years between September 2012 and October 2014. Her Ph.D. degree was a key reason in initially selecting her. I thought I would get someone who understands the language and culture to the full extent. What I had hoped for I did get, and even more. Sylvie is nice and has this exceptional ability to get children interested in French and to develop passion for learning French in them. Words fail to describe her great ability! If French teachers were flowers, Sylvie would be the rose. She is the very best language teacher among all language teachers that I have seen in my life so far, and may stay that way. Very highly recommended.

Excellent French Tutor
Sylvie is a very professional and excellent tutor. Thanks to her, my daughter got back on track in French class and is getting better scores in tests. Sylvie is definitely a great French tutor to work with!

Great teacher!
Sylvie is a great teacher! She is fun and explains things very well. She teaches a lot about grammar rules and is very good at explaining some of the difficult parts of the French language.

Amazingly helpful tutor
I arranged for my Sophmore in college son to work with Sylvie to help with an exam and he had the best experience. He learned so much during his two hours with her and was able to use what she taught him, and the notes she provided afterwards to really master what he needed to learn. He immediately booked another session.

Great french tutor
Sylvie teaches me and my 9 yo daughter. She is very experienced and has materials and expertise to teach any level. I am intermediate to advanced and my daughter is beginner level. She understands caters to our learning goals. We are improving with each class!
