Last month, one’s Quantitative score rose from 4 to 53 after 5 lessons, and another’s OAR score rose from 46 to 54 after 1 lesson.

I help students achieve passing HESI A2, TEAS 7, and IBEW aptitude test scores to improve their chances of acceptance into nursing school or the apprenticeship program. Two months ago, one earned a 90% HESI math score after 2 lessons. All of my IBEW students have passed the aptitude test in 4 or fewer lessons.

As a former community college algebra instructor, I have experience working with both traditional students and those who have been out of school for several years. To prepare for each exam, I familiarize students with the content and provide time-saving strategies to help them avoid remedial math, test into advanced math, and save time and money. My students see immediate results, with many needing just 1 lesson, including ones who earned math scores of 82% on the Algebra 1 Regents, 96% on the ALEKS, 285 on the Accuplacer QAS, and improved from 930 to 976 on the TSI. In 3 lessons, one’s PERT score went from 112 to 130. None needed more than 8 lessons.

I have a decade of experience as a math educator and test prep tutor. I possess the communication skills to break down complex AFOQT and OAR algebra and geometry problems into easy-to-understand terms. I patiently explain algebra problems step-by-step in easily understandable terms to middle and high school students taking algebra for the first time or college and adult learners who need a refresher. They all leave each lesson equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to break down and understand Algebra 1 problems.

As both a college algebra instructor and private algebra 2 tutor, I have assisted numerous students with reviewing algebra 1 concepts and learning new algebra 2 concepts such as imaginary and complex numbers, logarithms, and function transformations. I have also helped to introduce them to trigonometry and precalculus topics. I sharpen their problem-solving and mathematical-modeling skills so they can solve problems involving topics like quadratics and projectile motion, or exponential functions and compound interest. Among my greatest success stories are one student who went from 40% to 71%, one who went from 22% to 80%, and another who improved from an F to 92% after our lessons together.

I explain ASVAB math in simple language and provide shortcuts to math problems that teachers never show you. I have a decade of experience as a math educator working with traditional students and students who have been out of school for several years. I provide calculator tips for certain TEAS math questions and offer strategies for ones that cannot be solved with a calculator. I also teach the rules of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to help students master the TEAS English and Language Usage section. I've helped dozens pass the TEAS, and a third of them earned math and English scores between 88 and 100%.
Trigonometry

I teach students about right-triangle trigonometry, the Unit Circle, periodic functions, the Laws of Sines and Cosines, and other trig concepts. Some Algebra 2 classes only briefly discuss these topics, but I provide students with a deeper understanding of function transformations, angle conversions, trig identities, and other trig topics.

Extremely patient tutor

Michael has done a great job of tutoring me for my AFOQT. I put in a lot of work and time but he helped me raise my quantitative score from a 4 to a 53. Michael is extremely patient and provides many great resources, tips, and tricks for the AFOQT. Having him as a tutor was money well spent and I recommend him to anyone looking to do well on the AFOQT.

Amazing Help With The Navy’s OAR Exam

Michael was great to work with. At first, I tried to take the OAR with no additional resources and achieved a 46. I struggled with the math section on the OAR in particular. With Michael’s support, I managed to achieve a 54. He was professional, patient, thorough, and most of all, caring. I could tell that he really cared how well I was grasping everything and he followed up with me after my 2nd attempt to see how I did. In addition, he has an excellent ability at explaining math concepts in a very digestible way. Highly recommend!

Incredible Tutor

Michael was extremely professional, very patient, and knowledgeable. The way he explained things made everything click, he gave a purpose to every explanation and that helped me visualize and comprehend what he was explaining. I had a fantastic first experience with Michael as my tutor, and I can't recommend him enough. I was quite embarrassed to admit that I had forgotten a lot of math skills and had to relearn a significant portion of the material. However, Michael immediately reassured me that it's completely normal when you haven't used a skill in a while, which helped me stay focused. In just one session, I learned so much and regained confidence in the math skills covered in the first session. Michael explained short cuts and quicker methods for solving problems after going through the more traditional ways. It's often not the case that students do not know how to perform math and arithmetic operations. It's usually a matter of them not using them in a while, so they have forgotten and need to refresh their skills. It's also true that not everyone learns the same way, and that is why I try to demonstrate multiple approaches to solving a math problem.
