I find nothing more rewarding than helping students to deeply understand how things work and to watch them grow more and more confident in their own abilities. I am a full-time high school physics and engineering teacher, and the classroom setting allows for all kinds of exciting projects, demos, labs, and group work. Conversely, working with students one-on-one gives me the opportunity to tailor my teaching to their individual learning styles.

This is my 21st year as a full-time high school science (physics & engineering) and math teacher. I began tutoring privately while getting my undergraduate degree in engineering (biomedical-electrical) and graduate degree in education. I'd love to help you or your child see the joy of science and math!

I have an engineering background, so I'm well aware of the applications even the most seemingly abstract math topics. Additionally, I have both tutored in math and taught it in high school, so I understand the curriculum and am able to explain it in different ways.

Science and math can be challenging, but that's also why they're so satisfying once you understand them. I'm available for tutoring both online and in person and want to help you or your child get to that level of satisfaction.

Tara is an ideal physics tutor

My dd needs someone to help her review for tests, and Tara has been a godsend. She is both warm and efficient, and my daughter, who is not comfortable in every situation (she hates to be talked down to) appreciates that Tara respects her intelligence while at the same time fully unlocking the subject matter. My daughter's test grades went from Bs to As, and Tara has helped her understand how to study on her own.
