Over 40 student reviews of my lectures are easily found online and many more may be provided upon request. Many of the lecture sequences are also available in video format.

I am particularly skilled at explaining following topics:

1) Basic Algebra/ Trigonometry/ Precalculus

2) Single Variable Calculus

3) Multivariate Calculus

4) Probability Theory

5) Linear and Abstract Algebras

6) Real and Complex Analysis

7) Analysis on Manifolds

If you need help with more elementary topics or with a subject that I haven't listed here, please feel free to contact. I will be glad to help with any undergraduate and even graduate mathematics courses.

I hold myself responsible for providing great tutoring experience. I therefore do not charge my clients unless they are completely satisfied with my service.

Mathematica

Mathematica

My background in Mathematica is very modest. I routinely use the program to create animations to help my students visualize mathematical concepts. For instance, I have created several animations that help me explain trigonometry on the unit circle. I have developed numerous animations that explain the geometric properties of multivariate functions. Several such examples are on display in my resources folder. I am a PhD student of mathematics with a BA/MA degree in math.

I have several years of teaching experience of single and multivariable calculus both as a college instructor and as a tutor. I love this subject and I can communicate this love to anyone who is earnestly interested to learn it and lock it in the mind forever. I enjoy teaching ideas and prefer to work with dedicated students that wish to acquire the material in its kernel rather than merely pass it. I have helped many struggling students discover that they are actually gifted mathematically. A few of these students even graduated with a master's degree in math. For most students at the calculus level and beyond, the 'make-or-break' factor is their willingness to embrace the subject without holds. To those unwilling to tolerate her rough nature, mathematics is a cantankerous lady. Give her your love and she will show you her charms.

Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

I routinely deal with concepts that presuppose very thorough knowledge of linear algebra. I have extensive experience tutoring linear algebra at the college where I work. Although I have never taught this subject as one of my classes, linear algebra is heavily incorporated in my lectures on multivariable calculus. In these lectures I give a thorough explanation of the n by n determinant, expose the students to a few aspects of tensor algebra, and build the theory of linear maps over Euclidean spaces.

I have taught multivariable based introduction to probability theory. A full sequence of my lectures on the subject is available on video along with the accompanying notes free of charge. In my experience, developing a strong foundation in combinatorial techniques is key in eliminating most of novice errors. I have my own method for teaching these techniques, which I call The Kafka Protocol.
Trigonometry,

Trigonometry

Many students are frightened of trigonometry and think it to be beyond their power to comprehend its 'esoteric concepts'. In reality, every idea from Trigonometry that one would need to excel in subjects ranging from Precalculus to Linear Algebra and beyond can be thoroughly learned in the span of 8-12 one-hour lessons. As long as the student is willing to make the commitment to understand rather than memorize concepts, basic Trigonometry will start feeling like the breeze very soon! My teaching plan is as follows: (-1) 20 problem multiple-choice diagnostic test to give price estimate. (0) Evoke curiosity and excitement. [30 minutes free of charge] (1) Degree and Radian measure [2 hr lecture] (2) Basic trigonometry on the unit circle [2 hr lecture] (3) Sum and difference formulas for sin & cos [2 hr lecture] (4) Inverse trig functions [2 hr lecture] As a college instructor, I make the effort to excite my students into learning the mathematics. Being excited about trigonometry is easy once you see how much you can do with it. Be sure to check the animations in my "resources" folder. All of them made heavy use of trigonometry.

Excellent Tutor

Professor Arkady is very good at explaining calculus in a way that makes sense, which was especially important for me because I prefer to understand things rather than memorize formulas. Working with Arkady, it becomes evident that he is passionate about the subject and will do everything to make sure you understand a concept or a problem no matter how long it takes. I had not taken any math course in several years so my knowledge of calculus was very abysmal in the beginning, but after our tutoring sessions I can understand and solve problems that I didn't think I could, and easily keep up with the in-class lesson. His knowledge extends well beyond calculus and he incorporates interesting theories into the subject which make the tutoring sessions more fun. Highly recommended.

Amazing teacher

Amazingly knowledgeable in real analysis. Patient. Very clear. There when you need him! The absolute best. Would not have survived without him. Able to communicate very hard ideas of math.

"That was really helpful."

My son needs tutoring in linear algebra and multivariate calculus topics. (University level, School of Mathematics and Computing.) Arkady was able to walk my son through topics he has been struggling with in a clear and understandable manner. That may sound like faint praise, but we have struggled to find good tutors in the higher maths over the years. I am very pleased that my son found his session with Arkady to be worthwhile.

Arkady is good for my mental health

I am taking real analysis as an adult with a non-math background and I have faced several people who discouraged me from trying because they thought I wouldn't be able to understand the material, in addition to others who started speaking down to me as soon as I asked a notation question. As a result, my anxiety was so bad that I would just shut down whenever I tried to solve a problem. Arkady, on the other hand, has been incredibly encouraging and quick to point out what I do understand, which has done wonders for my confidence and has helped me think more clearly. He's also very dedicated and makes sure we go over the concepts thoroughly, which is an added bonus. I can't recommend him more.

Excellent tutor

Really helped my son understand how to solve complex calculus problems, not just memorizing ways to solve, but getting to the essence of math. Really great tutor!

Very professional and very clear

Arkady is a great communicator and very good at his knowledge transfer. He makes complicated calculus easier to understand. He was so effective from lesson one that I wanted the next lesson scheduled before we finished

Knowledgeable and engaging tutor

Arkady worked with my son to help on some calculus topics. My son, who usually finds calculus pretty boring, mentioned that Arkady not only clearly explained concepts but made it FUN! Overall he said Arkady is the best tutor he has ever had.

Knowledgeable and eager to help

Arkady was able to tutor my daughter at short notice to help diagnose her issues in Algebra 2. He was very proactive in following up with resources that could further help her. We look forward to working more with him.

Thorough and a Great Communicator

Arkady reached out prior to the session to understand what topics my son wanted to cover. He helped fill in holes and ensured my son had a basic understanding of the initial Calculus AB course lessons/concepts so that he can now build upon that knowledge. He also provided extra resources for him to review.
