Hello! I’m Mami, a Japanese language teacher based in New York. I was born and raised in Japan and moved to New York in 2000. I completed the Japanese Language Teacher Training Program at Japan Society NYC in 2019 and worked as an assistant instructor there. I have over 13 years of teaching experience and work with students of all ages, from young children to adults. I'm a beginner and completely new to the violin, but I know a good teacher when I meet one. She was very relaxed and knew how to work the software, and made sure I understood what I had been taught before moving on.

I play an non-conventional violin and practice random things on my own but Mami is very flexible and knowledgeable to facilitate my learning. Her help guided me both during and outside of lessons.

Mami patiently helped my daughter in an initial lesson how to hold her violin and bow, how to stand, and the parts of the violin and how they work. They also tried playing a half note together.
