Hi! My name is Andrew and I'm excited to be providing tutoring services at Wyzant! Please see below for my tutoring technique, teaching experience, personal background.

As a teaching philosophy, I believe that all students can succeed when the learning environment is supportive, engaging, and rigorous. I pride myself on building a rapport with students and creating an environment that couples laughter with high-expectations. I start with students' strengths and collaborate alongside them to build lessons and curricula that focus on their areas of improvement. I like to begin my sessions by addressing any pressing assignments or struggles the student has had since we last met, and moving from there into the next step of our own curriculum. My goals are to help your student learn their desired content, and empower them as a learner along the way.

I am a certified NYS teacher with four years of classroom experience from a charter school in Manhattan. I've taught diverse learners in ICT classes and regularly differentiated content for students with ASD, ADHD, LD, and a variety of other accommodations. Additionally, I have created personalized practice for gifted and talented students who excelled at the standard curriculum.

I am proud to have my Bachelor's in Cognitive Science from Northwestern University (go 'Cats) as well as my Master's in Teaching from NYU. I have expertise in teaching middle school and high school science whether it is chemistry, biology, physics, or psychology. Additionally, I have in-depth mathematics expertise - I completed college coursework through linear algebra and regularly collaborated with our middle school algebra team.
