My name is Isaac, I am a native Brooklynite working in social media and communications, with a passion for education both inside and outside of the classroom. I graduated from Wesleyan University in 2021 with a BA in Government, where I also helped lead various publications and student organizations in educational, editorial, and writing roles. Throughout my academic and professional experiences, I have found that emphasizing open and direct communication fosters spaces conducive to both learning and teaching, nurturing an understanding of the issues we are attempting to overcome and a relationship to the topics and practices we learn. I seek to build environments grounded in empathy when building and sharing knowledge, with lessons in creative endeavors (creative writing, video production, etc) emphasizing collaboration, while analytical tutorials (essay writing, history, social sciences, elementary maths) focus more on organized problem-solving efforts.
The majority of my tutoring experience occurred as a student, working to tutor lower-level students in math, science, and social sciences during my time in High School, and essay writing and research during and after college. In addition to this work, I have led myriad educational endeavors over the last decade of my life; I created and led a two-week course on Satire, coordinated myriad teach-ins about sociopolitical issues, and have spent the last few years producing short-form educational content for social media.
I aim to provide my students with an environment and structure best suited to their educational needs, and welcome any and all resources and suggestions from parents. Please reach out if you have any questions, scheduling or otherwise!
