I'm Felix: I'm a PhD candidate in English at CUNY with years of experience teaching writing, literature, and theory to college and high school students. My approach is flexible, intuitive, and student-centered—tailored to the needs of each learner, especially those who are multilingual, first-generation, or neurodivergent. I believe students learn best when they feel empowered and engaged, so I use creative exercises, real-world examples, and discussion-based methods to make challenging material accessible and meaningful.

I've taught at Baruch College, Bard College, and Hunter College’s MFA program, and I’ve supported students in everything from crafting college essays to analyzing complex texts to building confidence in academic writing. I'm especially passionate about helping students navigate structure, clarify their arguments, and find their voice.

I'm happy to adapt to your goals and learning style and am always open to feedback or ideas for how I can best support you. Reach out anytime to schedule a session or ask a question—I'm quick to respond and committed to making tutoring a productive and encouraging space.

Film

Film

I earned my B.A. in Film and Electronic Media from Bard College and have made films and performance works that have been screened at the Whitney Museum, LUMA Westbau, and Anthology Film Archives, among others. My tutoring blends cinematic history, theory, and practice, from script development to experimental video. I help students strengthen visual storytelling skills, analyze film language, and express ideas across narrative and non-narrative forms. I welcome learners at all levels, especially those interested in art, media, and hybrid creative writing.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I’ve delivered public lectures and performance-based presentations at venues including the Whitney Museum, Artists Space, and LUMA Westbau, blending critical theory, storytelling, and multimedia. My approach builds confidence, rhetorical agility, and clarity of voice. I’ve worked with students on debate teams and in writing-intensive programs to sharpen their argumentation and delivery skills. Whether preparing for a competition, class presentation, or public talk, I help students speak with precision, persuasion, and authenticity.
Theater

Theater

I am a theater artist and scholar with over a decade of experience creating experimental performances that blend live art, multimedia, and text. My work has been staged at venues including Artists Space, the Whitney Museum, and Greene Naftali. I specialize in performance theory, queer theater, and devised work, with expertise in directing, dramaturgy, and lecture-performance. I help students develop original pieces, refine their stage presence, and explore the intersections of theory and performance.
