My name is Lauren and I’m an experienced history, social sciences, and humanities tutor. I enjoy helping students reach their full potential in disciplines where, sometimes, the amount of information can feel overwhelming. History is my passion and I enjoy sharing it with others. I work with students to create personalized lesson plans that are (1) easy to understand (2) comprehensive and cover required curriculum and (3) foster student interest in history!

Subjects I have previously tutored include:
- AP United States History
- AP World History
- AP European History
- AP Art History
- AP Human Geography
- AP Government and Politics
- AP Macroeconomics
- AP Microeconomics
As a high school student, I received a score of 5 in all the above subjects (except for macro and microeconomics which my high school did not offer). I am excited to work with you and guide you toward an intuitive and comprehensive understanding in these fields!
About me:
I graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University, then matriculated to the University of Oxford where I completed a masters degree in history and won the esteemed Best Dissertation award from Oxford’s History Department. Along the way I was a finalist for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship - a process that involved writing five blind-review personal statements and admissions essays - while receiving several other distinctions for my work as a historian and writer.
I am currently applying to PhD programs with a career goal of becoming a university professor. My aim is to make a quality, rigorous liberal arts education accessible to the greatest number of students possible. I view helping K-12 students improve their skills history and social science as the first step towards achieving this.
