The moments in my life that made me fall in love with learning and teaching occurred at the intersection of music and education. I taught voice after beginning my BFA at NYU's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in the fall of 2014, and began academically-focused tutoring with the America Reads and Counts Program as an in-classroom tutor for 6th grade classes. I knew my existing curiosity for music engineering would lead me to a few engineering classes but I didn't anticipate that by the end of the first year, engineering would be my primary focus. As a result, I transitioned away from teaching voice lessons and began focusing on mastering Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and capturing beautiful audio. From here, I went on to work in a wide variety of jobs in addition to engineering gigs until I moved from New York back to the Dallas area in order to take care of my mom.

In caregiving, I felt a strong urge to continue tutoring. I wanted to stay connected to my passions for education and music and found there were many students struggling in the wake of the pandemic. In 2021 I began tutoring students in 5th through 11th grade in the following areas: homework and time management, ELA through AP English, history including APUSH, APHUG, and APMWH, math up to pre-calc, science up to physics and including APES, test prep, and SAT and ACT prep. Every student benefits from a unique approach that meets them where they are at, but a my typical starting point for an area like homework management includes working with the student to find out what organizational methods work best for them (what are they actually going to look at, what are they actually going to use, etc) and then working together to make a study plan. From there, I follow through and help teach them accountability by checking in on the implementation of the study plan and helping them overcome roadblocks as they appear. I am currently back in New York and eager to meet my next students!

Very Knowledgeable Tutor

Hannah is a great Audio Recording and Mixing tutor. She is very motivating and makes sure that you do everything you need to do. She gives good analogies to help understand the material better and is very encouraging of the student to get to achieve the highest grade possible.
