I am an educator who has worked in private and public schools in PA, FL, and NY. My primary teaching experience is centered on music, specifically instrumental music and spanning beginning strings (violin/viola/cello), brass, and woodwinds to advanced performing ensembles, including jazz bands and experimental ensembles grades 2-12. I have taught musical theater courses as well as AP music theory and am a working musician with over 17 years of experience performing on saxophones, flute, and clarinet in large and small ensembles across genres.

I obtained a Bachelor's in Music Education with a Jazz Concentration from Temple University in 2013 (GPA 3.77) and a Master's in Music Education from the University of Florida in 2021 (GPA 3.96). In addition, I have attended numerous teaching conferences in PA and FL and have completed college board coursework for teaching AP music theory. My capstone research was entitled "Strategies for Recognizing and Addressing Music Performance Anxiety in the Performing Ensemble Classroom."

As part of my decade of classroom teaching experience, I have also had the opportunity to teach environmental science electives (entomology). I have been an amateur entomologist since childhood and thoroughly enjoy environmental sciences and biology and sharing this knowledge and experience with students.

Finally, I am comfortable tutoring students in writing, reading, and critical thinking. At my last teaching post, I developed a Logic course centered on the written analysis of logical arguments presented as a means of dissent in historical documents, including the speeches and written works of Susan B. Anthony, Malcolm X, MLK, and others.

A large part of my tutoring and teaching process is based on students understanding the criteria they are being assessed upon, including having students develop their own rubrics to better understand the assessment process and how they can focus their study accordingly. I enjoy and am comfortable working with neurodivergent and disabled students.
