Hello!

If you're looking for help communicating your vibrancy and appeal to colleges in your application or scholarship essays, need a guide as you unearth the mysteries of literature, require a guru to help you discover the secrets of effective essay writing, or require a mentor to plan and practice for a presentation or interview, you're in the right place!

I am a National Board Certified English Language Arts educator with 14 years of classroom teaching experience and over 25 years of experience as a private tutor in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Although I have worked with learners from grade 2 and up, my experience is concentrated on students in grades 6-12 and adult learners.

I have designed curricula for and taught over 30 distinct courses in English, social studies, CTE, electives, and non-CTE law across all middle and high school grades 6-12. I have also designed and taught ACT preparatory courses and helped students analyze their ACT, PSAT, and SAT scores to chart a path to improving their scores.

My primary focus at this time is on helping high school students navigate the college admissions process by providing support for all written aspects of their college applications. I have over ten years of experience helping students with the planning and drafting essays for the Common App, scholarships, and Questbridge, as well as filling out the Common App activities section, writing their resumes, and preparing for college interviews.

Before teaching, I worked as a civil litigation attorney in California for a number of years. I am one of the youngest attorneys ever to have been licensed in the State of California after graduating from law school at the age of 22. As such, I am also available to help students looking to accelerate their own progress through the secondary and post-secondary landscape.

I am available to work with middle and high school students at the college preparatory, honors, and AP levels. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need help!

College Counseling

I have 11 years of experience helping students craft successful essays for admission to highly selective colleges and universities and to secure competitive scholarships. I help students and their families understand what colleges value, identify academic and extracurricular opportunities that align with their college goals, complete the Common App, draft their resumes, prepare for college interviews, and craft memorable and personal Common App and supplemental essays. As college admissions becomes increasingly competitive, learning how to put your best foot forward is essential for securing a seat at a top tier choice.

Remarkable Tutor

I just had to give a shoutout to Courtney for her fantastic help in crafting an appeal document. In just a couple of sessions, she not only assisted in creating a solid outline but also honed in on the crucial elements that truly mattered. Courtney's guidance was spot-on, steering me in the right direction and ensuring I focused on the most important parts. Her knack for outlining and prioritizing made a world of difference. Big thanks to Courtney for her valuable assistance – couldn't have done it without her!
