Award-winning law and business school teacher
I started teaching almost by chance. A friend was in charge of an MBA program and needed a substitute ASAP for a business law course. To my surprise, I enjoyed the experience and got great evaluations from my students. I continued as adjunct faculty for some years; teaching my class became the high point of my week. I started teaching almost by chance. A friend was in charge of an MBA program and needed a substitute ASAP for a business law course. To my surprise, I enjoyed the experience and got great evaluations from my students. I continued as adjunct faculty for some years; teaching my class became the high point of my week. In 2004, I was invited to join the faculty of the top-ranked IE Business School (accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS). Following this experience, I have taught in other law and business schools in the US, Europe and Latin America.
Whether in front of a classroom or working one-to-one with students, teaching is a lot of fun. You have the satisfaction of seeing students grow in understanding and skills, the challenge of designing and presenting lessons that will engage students and allow them to reach their goals, and the inspiration of preparing students for their life's work in whatever field they choose.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish (Literature and Culture) from the University of California, Irvine. I lived and worked in Madrid for over 20 years, followed by three years working in Mexico. During my career, I have taught various business and legal subjects in Spanish, as well as becoming qualified as a lawyer in Spain and thus practicing law in Spanish - one of my cases even went up on appeal to the Supreme Court of Spain.
My professional career has always involved written communication to clients, courts and arbitrators, as well as to a general academic audience. Whether persuasive or expository, writing must be correct, clear and concise. I have extensive experience as an editor and reviewer, working with students on research papers, admissions essays, moot court submissions and masters' theses. One of the best if not the best tutor I've had so far in Wyzant.
I've had a pleasant time with Mr. Gregory as a tutor. He explains every topic discussed with so much ease and in a way that it is easy to digest. You can tell that he has been doing this for a long time and he enjoys it. He is currently helping me with my studies for the CA bar exam and I would recommend him to anyone who wishes to supplement his/her studies.Jonathan, 5 lessons with Gregory
