Hi, My name is Susanna. I'm a new tutor at WyzAnt. I have always loved math. I studied math at Helsinki University and obtained my Master's Degree of Science (Math and Physics). I also have completed pedagogical studies and a teacher training period, which qualifies me to teach math and physics in middle school and high school. I used to work in a multitude of math and physics substitute teacher positions at middle school and high school levels during my University studies, and I have done some in-person tutoring also.
I am looking to use my knowledge in math and physics and my experience in classroom teaching to help my students with their difficulties in learning math and to increase their confidence in learning math. I work patiently to understand the learning process of my students and to explain carefully how formulas and mathematical laws need to be used in each mathematical problem. I focus on pointing out mathematical accuracy, appropriateness and consistency. I believe that multiple repeatitions of successfully completed equations and careful step by step notes of their solving process helps to build up mathematical skills and memory. I want to help my students to overcome problems by logical thinking by pointing out missing elements of information (possibly from earlier courses) which may cause problems with the solving of mathematical equations and problems. I am hoping to be able to provide an eye opening learning experience, so that finding solutions for math problems would become an exciting and rewarding experience.
In Physics, my experience is in conducting experiments. I understand the purpose of observation and experimental measuring processes in proofing of scientific laws. I want to help students to understand why they are solving physic's equations consisting parameters which are proved to be dependable upon each other through experiments.
