Welcome to my profile! I am a mathematics tutor who is currently studying electrical engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology. I have taken many high level math classes such as AP Calculus AB, Calculus 2 and Multivariable Calculus, all of which I attained an A in as well as achieving a 5 on the AP exam. I have one year of tutoring experience through my high school, where I worked one-on-one with students in Algebra 1 but am comfortable teaching any math topic up to multivariable calculus
My approach is centered around questions. One of the biggest challenges I've found students face in a classroom is not being able to ask every question that comes to mind. In math, a single unclear step can cause a student to not understand the rest of the class and fall behind. During tutoring sessions, I actively encourage students to ask as many questions as they need. I create an environment where no question is “too small”. Rather than rushing through material, I focus on identifying and strengthening foundational gaps so students truly understand what they’re doing.
I also rely heavily on worked examples. While theory is important, math becomes much more approachable when students see the concepts being taught applied step by step. I break problems down clearly and then guide students through similar problems until they can solve them independently. One of the students I worked with in Algebra 1 went from failing their first exams to earning A’s after we focused on filling in conceptual gaps and practicing examples together.
My method of tutoring is primarily online where I use an Ipad Pro and Apple Pencil. This allows me to share a digital white board with notes, annotations, and examples. Since it is digital, high-quality images and notes can be shared directly with you without delay.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching math as I have been a student struggling with math’s concepts and know how it feels. Thank you for considering me for your learning needs and if you have any questions please reach out!
