I teach the way I lead my Cub Scout activities: clear structure, hands-on learning, and a positive, encouraging tone. With 3+ years of experience guiding Scouts through STEM activities, I’ve learned how to explain concepts in simple language, keep students engaged with practical examples, and manage different learning speeds in a small group.
In our sessions, I will:
* Start by finding out what your child already understands and where they feel stuck
* Use real-world and project-based examples (not just worksheets) to make math and STEM feel useful and interesting
* Encourage questions, curiosity, and “show me your thinking” instead of just giving answers
* Adjust the pace and style to fit your child - whether they need extra practice, enrichment, or both
For older students, I add more problem-solving strategies, test-prep practice, and focus on organizing their thinking and showing work clearly.
