Hello there!

My name is Rachel!

I tutor grades K-12 in Math, English, Writing, Reading, Test Prep, and Music.

I graduated high school in the top of my class with honors and received a full ride academic Regent's Scholarship.

I have been tutoring for 10+ years and I absolutely love it. I approach each session with patience, understanding, and positive encouragement no matter what age you are. My sessions are not only educational, but also fun which I feel instills the joy and excitement of learning--a key component to retaining knowledge. Positive reinforcement is extremely important, and I will go at any pace necessary for my students to understand the material fully. I keep my sessions upbeat and optimistic!

I know how to work with children in that I know how to keep their attention. When working with ages K-6, I sometimes use stickers as a reward if the child gets a problem right or has a break-through understanding. I also work very well with high school-aged students in that I explain difficult material in simplistic terms so it becomes easy to grasp. I personally invest in my students and care that they comprehend everything before the session is over, leaving no questions unanswered.

Some words that describe me as a person and tutor are trustworthy, pleasant, welcoming, organized, diligent, communicative, efficient, enthusiastic, and caring.

I am a flexible with my hours, and can work around your schedule.

Whether you need material explained, help studying for a test, or someone to get you through your homework, I promise to help you and make sure you are completely comfortable with your material.

Have a beautiful day!
