My name is TJ and I am writing to express my sincere interest in helping you or your child with your education needs. I am sincerely interested in this position and wish to share some of my life experiences with you.
I am a former police Detective who three years ago discovered that I had to reinvent myself. My wife is the primary wage earner; she works in the medical field and was offered a tremendous opportunity that served the interests of our family so we relocated to the Crystal Coast. I worked in various jurisdictions including New Orleans, LA and Hattiesburg, MS. I was a police Detective for approximately three of my nearly ten year law enforcement career. I worked in a “crimes against persons” unit and I was tasked with managing multiple felony case files. I proofread and corrected them all including my own Detective narratives. This was an important part of my job because any mistake in grammar or sentence structure would serve an ever opportunistic defense attorney well.
Additionally, I was a hostage negotiator and I also did live press releases that included rounds of questioning from reporters, television interviews, print, and radio interviews. I presented approximately one hundred grand jury presentations and never once had a no bill of indictment returned on any of my cases. I was known and respected as an intelligent and diligent investigator and any colleague or acquaintance can and will attest to that I am quite certain.
Upon moving to this area I realized that I did not want to start over on patrol duty so I had to reinvent myself. I transferred to Campbell University, I have been published five times and I earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science “Cum Laude”. Moreover, I maintained a G.P.A of 3.7 and was nominated to the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, The Dean’s List and Phi Kappa Phi which places me in the top 7.5% academically nationwide.
My ultimate goal is to become a published author. I am currently working on a book about culture a
