Hello! My name is Sharon Wright and I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals.

I am a graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. I am currently working full-time as a Substitute Teacher for Brunswick County Schools and part-time on my Master of Arts (MA) degree in Management with a concentration in Human Resources.

I am a graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. I can tutor students in social studies, English, history and communications which includes reading, writing, and vocabulary. I can also help students prepare for specialized tests in various subject areas. Most of the students I have tutored are in grades K-12 as well as college. My work experience includes an appointment as Director of Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs at Brunswick Community College in Supply, NC from 1997 to 2000, so I have experience advising and helping students in a college setting. I have tutored students in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

My tutoring methods include defining the needs of the student and creating an atmosphere where they feel comfortable expressing their wishes and concerns. I take the time to answer all questions and pace my tutoring around their individual goals. Students learn differently and have varied learning styles, so I try to find the method that works best for each individual. Teaching is not just a job, but an adventure in showing students that they can make their dreams come true and achieve their goals with a solid academic background. Students can master speech skills once a specified program of testing to determine what is the cause of this type of difficulty is performed. Sometimes the inability to hear words pronounced correctly can lead to speech difficulties. My experience in helping students overcome speech problems spans two years. I have helped over five students overcome speech problems by applying speech therapy processes that I learned by taking various educational academic classes. My students are then able to develop their writing and language skills with great success.

Amazing Tutor!

I used Mrs. W for a few months and during that time she helped me achieve my goals for increasing my SAT score. She helped me get almost 100 points more than my goal score. We did vocabulary quizzes, wrote practice essays, and even did a complete practice test. After I was finished studying for the SAT, she helped me tremendously by revising my college application essays. I highly recommend her because she can help and is so knowledgeable in every area of academics.

Mrs. W is an excellent tutor. We requested Mrs. W to help our son prepare for an English compass test for college admission. Rather than just helping him to memorize the material to pass the test, Mrs. W assessed his current level of knowledge and tutored him in the areas he was weak to help him pass the test and be competent in future classes. Mrs. W is very friendly and has been extremely flexible working within our daily schedules. Our son has had nothing but good things to say about Mrs. W.
