I tutor all SAT and ACT subjects including SAT Subject Test Math I and II, GRE and GMAT test prep, AFM, precalculus, calculus, prealgebra, algebra 1/2/3, trigonometry, geometry, German, and other subjects.

My Qualifications:

For math, I supply equations, graphs, examples, and sample test materials for each subject to teach math concepts and problem solving skills. I make it easy to understand grammar rules and language comprehension. I teach simple test taking strategies that work. I help with homework and prepare students for upcoming quizzes and tests. I also teach all levels of German language, including conversational, written, grammar, and business language skills.

I enjoy helping my students get better in their math classes and improve their SAT/ACT/GRE/GMAT test scores. Some of my students have learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, autism, etc. I seem to be able to relate well to my students and help them gain confidence by using a teaching approach they respond to. I have many happy students and parents as shown in my reviews. Many of my students are repeat clients, or recommendations from previous and current students. I also have quite a few long term clients that have referred me to other family members or friends to help them excel in middle school, high school, graduate, and post graduate school.

With a Master's degree in Computer Science and working as a software engineer for many years, I had to use a lot of mathematics to solve problems. Often, I can even show a student how an equation is derived. I can teach how to quickly eliminate wrong answers on the ACT test, find the correct answers quickly, and develop strategies for solving problems.

I am a native German and have lived in the States for over 30 years. I teach German to a family with four children on a weekly basis. Depending on the needs of the client, I teach conversational German, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, reading, and writing in German. I am also experienced in German technical writing and translations.

I teach GMAT prep by reviewing GMAT problems tailored to the needs of a specific student, giving test taking strategies and problem solving skills, reviewing math concepts and formulas.I also tutor GRE math, SAT, and ACT test prep by patiently reviewing algebra, trigonometry, geometry, probability, precalculus as needed to prepare for the test, learning and understanding the right math formulas, and mastering test taking strategies. I have studied English grammar for 9 years. I teach English grammar to ACT and SAT students as well as to non-English speaking students. I am able to explain English grammar rules and teach sentence structure, use of punctuation, tenses, proper use of pronouns, and help with the most common grammar mistakes.

I improve GRE scores by providing GRE tests for practice, reviewing GRE problems tailored to the needs of a specific student, teaching test taking strategies and problem solving skills, reviewing math concepts, formulas, sentence completion, grammar rules, and other verbal skills. I also tutor GMAT, ACT/SAT test preparation and have taken the highest level math courses while completing my Master's in Computer Science. Many of my GRE prep students improve their scores dramatically over a few weeks of tutoring sessions. I also provide basic and advanced math formulas needed for the test, online GRE Quant practice drills and timed tests, and plan tutoring sessions tailored to a student’s needs.

I am a therapeutic riding instructor for a therapeutic riding program in Huntersville, NC. My current status is PATH Instructor-In-Training. I also have an ADD son and stepson as well as a 19 year old daughter (diseased)with leukodystrophy, CP, cortical blindness, developmental delay, epilepsy, and kidney disease. I know more about these conditions than many doctors since I researched nutrition, medications, treatments, and alternative medicine for each. My daughter lived 18 years longer than expected.

Oftentimes, knowing a few basic formulas and knowing which ones to apply, makes it easy to find the answers.
