Since February 2023, I have been actively tutoring in many organizations. I volunteered as a peer tutor in high school until June, where I provided one-on-one math instruction up to Calculus. After this, I started tutoring at a math center, where I worked with students aged 5 to 18, covering topics from elementary math through AP Calculus. I gained experience in group sessions and one-on-one tutoring, tailoring my methods to meet each student's needs. These experiences have helped me develop a flexible teaching style that adapts to different learning levels, ensuring that students feel supported regardless of their current skill level.
My teaching philosophy is centered around building a solid foundation of understanding. I believe that without a strong grasp of the basics, it's difficult for students to comprehend more advanced topics truly. I often work backward with students to identify gaps in their knowledge and focus on those before moving forward. Additionally, I incorporate proofs into my lessons to explain why a concept works, which not only deepens their understanding but also makes learning more engaging. Through this approach, I aim to build my students' confidence in math and computer science, helping them develop the skills they need to succeed academically.
