About Lutz

Bio

Being a private German tutor has always something that I have enjoyed besides teaching college classes at North Carolina State University. I grew up in Germany and came to the US more than 20 years ago to obtained a Ph.D. in German from UNC Chapel Hill. I have been teaching all levels of German from elementary to advanced.

I grew up in Germany and came to the US more than 20 years ago to obtained a Ph.D. in German from UNC Chapel Hill. I have been teaching all levels of German from elementary to advanced.

As a tutor, I am very aware of the needs of the students and have tailored my lessons toward those needs. In the past, I have helped middle and high school students to achieve better grades and get more confidence in their German skills. I have also tutored adults who prepared for Advanced exams in German language proficiency or who wanted to prepare before going abroad to Germany. I am very patient and can explain the subject matter well. I will also encourage students to communicate in the language and in that way increase their self confidence.

Patient German Tutor

He was very patient, and, I learned a lot in one session. He was very knowledgeable and for being my first tutor, he was great. He was punctual, and dressed very well. We had a very nice conversation about Dresden.
