With my experience of over five years of working with students inside and outside of classrooms, I've dedicated myself to perfecting students' academic prowess in math, Spanish, and physics. This began at the same time as my pursuit of a dual degree – Spanish Language, Literature, and Cultures with a concentration in Education, alongside Physics with a focus on applied physics. Reaching for dual-specialization laid the foundation for my multifaceted approach to passionate and comprehensive education.
I gained valuable experience as an Instructor Under Practicum and Assistant at Appalachian State in high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools. This broadened my education portfolio, allowing me to adapt to various educational levels and settings.
After this, I transitioned into independent tutoring. My expertise in mathematics from my coursework in physics allowed me to navigate subjects from math literacy skills for elementary schoolers to calculus for high school students. I developed personalized instruction, tailoring my approach to accommodate various learning styles and pacing within one of the hardest subject areas for students.
In the realm of Spanish education, my dual degree equipped me most solidly to deliver Spanish education from Kindergarten to 12th grade in compliance with NC's essential standards - those based on the ACTFL proficiency framework. I studied under and delivered lessons as a training teacher with some of the most notable world language educators in the state of North Carolina.
Simultaneously, my background in physics positioned me as a guide for students into the physical world. Whether delving into algebraic physics at the high school level or calculus-based physics at the honors and collegiate level, my goal was to create an engaging environment that stimulated curiosity and critical thinking for all students. Though this hasn't been my focus, I have spent many sessions with college-level students to improve their physics grades and comprehension.
