My name is Philip Amewudah. I am currently a Phd student at Missouri University of Science and Technology, MST, Rolla. I had my undergraduate degree at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. I moved to the United States in 2018 to start my masters degree in Mathematics/Statistics at the University of New Orleans, UNO, LA, where I graduated with a 4.00 GPA. As a Phd student now, I also work as a graduate teaching assistant at MST. I worked as a teaching assistant at UNO too. As a teaching assistant, I have been an instructor for College algebra, Statistics and Trigonometry. I have also been a facilitator for Calculus 1, 2 and 3 labs and recitations.
I have had the opportunity to tutor students in elementary school, high school and the college level. I am able to tutor students in person and also online. My teaching and tutoring experience has mostly been about helping students understand Mathematics and Statistics materials and seeing students to do that is what makes me happy. I am able to work according to the students' pace. I am friendly and my level of education makes me very good at most concepts that students need help with in Mathematics and Statistics.
One thing that students have liked about my tutoring is the atmosphere for conducive learning that I am able to create. I like to create that comfortable and non-intimidating atmosphere for students to feel free, not get scared and enjoy learning maths. I hope I am able to get in touch with some students here on Wyzant soon and get started.
