I hold a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Wichita State University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Truman State University. My graduate studies focused on power systems analysis, controls, and optimization, combining mathematical reasoning with practical engineering problems. I welcome opportunities to help students understand calculus, physics, and electrical engineering concepts, particularly power systems analysis.
From 2023 to 2026, I worked as a Graduate Student Office Assistant at Wichita State University, evaluating engineering coursework for classes of 80+ university students and communicating technical feedback to students and faculty. This experience strengthened my ability to follow students’ reasoning, identify errors, and explain where an approach needs improvement. My background also includes mentoring undergraduate researchers on experimental procedures and documentation. These experiences have shaped the careful, supportive approach I would bring to individual tutoring.
My approach starts with understanding what a student already knows and where they are getting stuck. I break problems into manageable steps, explain the reasoning behind equations, and use examples to connect abstract concepts to their applications. I encourage students to explain their thinking and practice applying ideas themselves, so that lessons build both understanding and independence. Whether we are reviewing a difficult concept or working through practice problems, my goal is to help students develop a clear method they can use with confidence.
