My name is Krishay V., and I am currently a student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). I am currently a 1st - year in UMKC's 6-year BA/MD program and graduated with a high school diploma from Marquette High School, in St. Louis, Missouri. I have taken classes such as AP Chemistry, Biology, Calculus BC, and other rigorous courses. I have been teaching for a couple of months now, helping students with mathematics and also with explaining the field of medicine and students interested in that career aspect.
My teaching style is very straightforward. I provide one-on-one consultations online, usually letting the student guide the session. I will address any problems that they have regarding their course, or if requiring assistance in understanding a concept. I usually get to know the student very well in the first session, understanding strengths/weaknesses. The first session is free, as I want to be able to understand the thought processes each student has and tailor the way they. go through problems to the content. Once I understand the issues, I'll start with what they do know well, build confidence in those exercises, and then work on the tougher concepts. I understand the patience required, and that everyone learns differently, so to accommodate for that I plan to work simply, efficiently, and with intent.
Hobbies/activities that I also have are the guitar, as I love playing music, and tennis, a sport I love very much and have coached students in the past with, allowing them to learn skills, and have taught all ages. In addition, I have fundraised $12000 for cancer through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which is now renamed as Blood Cancer United. I have expertise in fundraising skills and can assist in those aspects.
