Hello!, my name is Hugo, I am a passionate, creative, and versatile photographer; developer of visual narrative and storytelling across different subjects and styles, with more than 20 years in the trade. Expert in film, alternative techniques, and darkroom processes; as well as digital ones. I’d love to work with you towards your photography goals. Sharing and advancing my knowledge is one of the primary drivers in my professional path. I am an experienced music photographer, designer of experimental cameras and implements, and restorer of traditional technologies in conjunction with new ones. I am educated in film and print scanning for archival digitization, digital photo-editing and photo-managing software; specialized in free, open source alternatives and their workflows. I have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical-Electrical Engineering and I have taken photography courses with renowned local artists, but mostly self-taught with the same experimental, immersive, hands-on approach that I teach.

My teaching strategy is to provide you with the knowledge and resources to achieve the photographs and style that you want. Learn through practical, relevant examples in which the technical knowledge you acquire will become purposeful. I have been doing one on one tutoring for adult for the past two years with this approach, as well as leading and organizing photo clubs, in person and online. It has been a very entertaining journey!
