I am currently a Political Science major at the University of Missouri–Kansas City with a 4.0 GPA and a completed minor in Race, Gender, and Ethnic Studies. My academic background has been deeply rooted in writing-intensive coursework, critical thinking, and analytical reading, which has strengthened my ability to guide students through complex texts and help them express their ideas clearly in writing. As a Trustee Scholar and consistent Dean’s List recipient, I bring not only subject mastery but also a strong personal commitment to excellence and structure.
My tutoring and teaching experience began through the Missouri A+ Program, where I worked one-on-one with middle school students in English and math. I focused on adapting my instruction to individual learning styles, using creative explanations, repetition, and vocabulary strategies to make reading comprehension and writing accessible. I also served as a Youth Program Coordinator for a nonprofit, where I developed and facilitated youth workshops—building skills in curriculum design, lesson planning, and interactive engagement for students ranging from late elementary to high school. In addition, my experience on the debate team sharpened my ability to teach persuasive writing, argument structure, and evidence-based analysis—skills I now apply when helping all students become stronger communicators.
My teaching style is student-centered, conversational, and adaptable. Whether I’m helping an elementary or middle schooler build reading confidence or coaching a high schooler through essay structure, I prioritize making learning relevant, clear, and empowering. I also have experience using online tools and digital whiteboards to lead effective virtual sessions.
