I am currently a college student majoring in Data Science with minors in Mathematics and Computer Information Systems, and I have a 3.98 GPA. Along with academics, I am also a student-athlete competing in track and field, which has taught me discipline, time management, and how to stay patient when learning difficult material. Throughout school, I have taken advanced math and statistics courses, and I especially enjoy helping students with algebra, reading comprehension, study skills, and general homework support.
While I do not have formal tutoring experience yet, I regularly help friends, classmates, and younger students understand assignments and prepare for quizzes and tests. I understand that every student learns differently, so I try to adapt my teaching style based on the student’s needs. For some students, that may mean walking through practice problems step-by-step, while for others it may involve explaining concepts in a simpler way, reviewing examples together, or helping them build better study habits and confidence.
I also understand what it feels like to struggle with subjects at first. Earlier in school, I sometimes found math frustrating, but through hard work and learning how to study effectively, I became much stronger academically. That experience helps me relate to students who may feel overwhelmed or discouraged. My goal as a tutor is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and gaining confidence while improving their skills.
