With a B.S. and M.S. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Michigan, I’ve developed a strong foundation for teaching that blends academic rigor with accessible instruction. My coursework and lab experience—in genetics, metabolism, and cell signaling—enable me to simplify complex material into clear, engaging lessons. While my research background informs my understanding of scientific inquiry, my focus as an educator is on helping students master content and build critical thinking skills. I’ve supported undergraduates in understanding challenging topics like the cell cycle and enzyme kinetics by using stepwise visuals and relatable analogies. My strength lies in identifying conceptual gaps and designing targeted strategies—through concept reviews, practice problems, or interactive models—to address them.

As a Graduate Student Instructor and private tutor, I’ve worked with students across various academic levels. At U-M, I led discussion sections for over 100 students in cell and nutritional biology, designing workshops that integrated real-world case studies (e.g., diabetes metabolism, cancer pathways) with collaborative learning. I also held weekly one-on-one sessions to support lab reports, data analysis, and exam preparation. Students I mentored frequently reported stronger academic performance and increased confidence. Beyond campus, I’ve worked with high schoolers on AP Biology, using virtual labs to simulate experiments on photosynthesis and DNA replication. Whether scaffolding core concepts for struggling students or challenging advanced learners with primary literature, I adapt my approach to meet individual needs and foster long-term understanding.
